Zombies for the NHS!

ZombiesWe at York People’s Assembly love to see people coming up with creative protest actions, so we’re excited to hear that medical students from the Medsin network in York are planning a ‘Zombie Flashmob for the NHS’ on Saturday 30th November.

Wondering where the connection between the NHS and Zombie is? On the Facebook page for the event, they say “We are protesting the fact that we are sleepwalking towards the death of our NHS as we know it. Lets show everyone that young people are not going to sit ideally by while our future is sold off and our healthcare ruined.”

The action will take place at 1pm outside York Minster on Saturday 30th November, as part of a Medsin day of action. People are encouraged to dress up and use face-paint. Like most flashmobs, the protest will involve people ‘appearing’ at exactly 1pm, presumably signalled by the bongs from the Minster.

If you have a creative idea for protesting against the government’s actions, why not leave your thoughts in a comment?
