Saturday saw over 200 people from across Yorkshire and further afield assemble in Doncaster to show support for the CareUK strikers on day 34 of their strike. The strikers themselves were in a strong mood. Whilst CareUK threaten to enforce new contracts, everyone we heard from expected further rounds of strike action after this one.
Two car loads and a cyclist from York joined with activists from Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and as far away as London. As the march wound its way through the town centre a group of children raised the roof as they joined in with the chanting, creating a really great atmosphere. The sun shone, lifting spirits and bringing people out of nearby pubs to watch.
