The York People’s Assembly Reading Group has continued is activities and is developing new ideas to be proposed for wider discussion by all the People’s Assembly’s supporters. We hope soon to organise public meetings or round tables to discuss several economic topics.
The group also decided to divide its research activities into three streams, identifying three major categories of thinkers who need to analyse:
Radicals: with this category we identify thinkers we proposed a radical transformation of the foundations of the economy, proposing a transition from capitalist economies to other ways of organising the production and distribution of goods and services.
Reformers: this category includes thinkers who saw the flaws of capitalism and market mechanism, and tried to propose ideas to solve these problems without changing the foundations of the economic systems.
Refounders: they are economist, philosophers and social scientists who changed our theoretical perspectives on economic and social matters, identifying new categories of thought and radically changing economics as a science.
