Turning up the heat this Summer

The People’s Assembly “No More Austerity” march and free festival is just weeks away, and coach tickets are selling well. But that’s not the only major anti-austerity action planned for the summer months. Unions are balloting members for joint strike action on public sector pay. If successful, Thursday 10th July could see a million on strike in education, health and local government, and we’ll be supporting them. But that’s not all…

Two days later, there’ll be a Day of Action against TTIP on July 12th when War on Want and World Development Movement will team up with NHS and anti-privatisation campaigners to inform the public and oppose the deal that could spell doom for the NHS. With the return to the streets of UK Uncut, targeting serial tax avoiders Vodafone on June 14th as well, this summer looks set to be busy!

All this and more will be up for discussion at our meeting this Monday 2nd June, 7.30pm at the TSSA Offices by the pedestrian crossing on Nunnery Lane.
